Not really a build, but a "Make Drivable Again" post

So I recently aquired a 95 Ford Explorer sport 2dr 4x4. I know, I know, it's a ford. But, I couldn't pass it up though, as it was only $150, and was girlfriend approved. it was a co-worker of hers. I had previously replace the fuel pump for him, so I was familiar with the truck, and it was exceptionally clean, with nothing more than a little surface rust on the hatch and bumper. Some other little issues, but his reasoning for getting rid of it was that the starter went out and he was told the Flexplate has chipped teeth.

So tomorrow it gets towed to my place. Hoping to get it inspected and on the road before the snow flies so I can use it to get the Suburban parts back from my parents.

here are the only pictures I have right now.

Yeah.

So $70 to tow it home, $30 for used starter, $80 in misc other parts, and it's still sitting in my driveway. Starter is a PAIN IN THE ASS to remove. Just say no if asked to replace one. Top bolt SUCKS. Now after some trouble shooting, it turns over, but doesn't fire. Going to do plugs, wires, and compression test when I get a chance to assess those areas, which should give me an indication of why it isn't firing. Changed the oil, and it was black, but no metal in it. So that's good. Fuel pressure is good too.

Got some interior parts for it. Replaced the locks and ignition since I didn't have a good key, and got a second remote for it. Still fixing a bunch of stuff inside it.

Filled up the leaking tire and cleaned the wheels and wiped off the dirt on the body and it is pretty shiny. So once I get it running again, I'll be stoked and should be a fun driver.

Only pic I have of after cleaning it off:

Oh yeah, it is a 4.0L (only available engine in 95 sport) and I believe the 4x4 works, although the transfer case leaks some. Once it is running, I'll change the fluid in the transfer case and diff's just to be safe. Trans fluid too possibly.
