did you grab any other shots of that Dodge L series that you could post up? I've never seen one before.

Re: Trucks Are Beautiful

A pair of D 700's.....

Both same year.... but the Goo$e put the next - year grill on his.

( I helped restore the white 'Cuda, some years ago in Orange County, Ca.)

Not the truck..... it was found later.

Re: Trucks Are Beautiful

The yellow truck was originally painted in STP colors & used by Richard Petty before it was sold to the Snake.

From what I heard ( I won't divulge the source )..... Even though the trucks are history, ....the interior cab had at least as much..... "history"....

Very cool. The real trucks! Must be '67s and the one has a '68 grille. I had a '69 W200, which was first year for new hood but same grille as '68. Mine ended up with '68 sheet metal (cab and hood). My first frame-off truck

Re: Trucks Are Beautiful

Next time someone says the 67-72 GM Trucks had rust issue you need to point out how old they are and rust happens to everything. That '69 Dodge cab was rusted out in '77 when I bought it. It was originally a 7up green color and had already had a repaint in '77 when I bought it. It was only 11 years old when I restored it, including a cab swap. Fords rusted before the GMs, too. The 67-72 GMs held up better than the 73-78s around here. dodge did built the badass 4wds back in the '69s though

Re: Trucks Are Beautiful

Funny how all the way over here I would have no idea of them. That sounds like a solid company, I'd say.

I found more of my friend's C-series Ford "Hangman" in pictures of his place. We just finished putting a new roof on his shop and time for the ventilator

Re: Trucks Are Beautiful

Using The Hangman on a honey-do job. Chuck had plans to build a half-pipe for his son out of this cut-up fiberglass tank. Never happened and now Kate needed some shelter for her firewood she keeps in this old outbuilding foundation

Re: Trucks Are Beautiful

We did both sides. I want them to do a real post and beam frame on the high side so we can do a roof across the middle. Have it all dry in there with room to split if need be.

Re: Trucks Are Beautiful

The Hangman gives me the willies just a tad. I won't go into the details of the story and clutter up this thread, but lets just say that not remembering to latch the cab down can make for a very thrilling ride in the hills.

Back when I was searching for a dump truck I found this '64 Pete with a Cummins big cam transplant for sale. Out of immediate necessity (2 days to job start) I ended up buying a Western Star locally, but man...I really wanted to head to Montana and check this baby out.

So fine. Reality sucks! Western Stars aren't a bad thing though.

Those KW 953 are cool as hell. I'd love to see one of the new 963s in person, one of these days I should email them and see if they're building any...their Renton plant isn't far from me, but I don't know if those come out of there.
