I got my in cab tank from classic parts. Great quality, they sell under bed tanks also. The truck shop in California and Brothers sell good tanks also. A rear underbed tank is good also cause it puts alittle more wait on the rear tires, go faster down hill and a slower climb o up hill!

Re: Recommendations on a Fuel Tank '66 c10

I have a question about this nipple on the side of the tank i purchased. My best guess is its a return line or a tank vent. but I'm not sure if it is necessary to use or if you just block them off to prevent crap from getting into your tank? below is a picture of the tank, and the other deal is a roll over vent valve please tell me what you all think.

17 gallon rear mount lmc tank

Re: Recommendations on a Fuel Tank '66 c10

Do not even try it like i did. Some time there's people who will say they have done it before and will say to let them know how it goes. but it not true amybe they just want other people to frist try it before they will.

After seeing one picture, i decided to try it. went to junk yard and brought 3 different time from different s10. It does not fit. one inch from the drive shaft.

I'm doing the 65-66 mustang. 17 Gal but you will have to change the sending units to 65 is for sure 0-30 ohm 0-90 Ohms most GM cars and trucks 1965-up Mustangs were 10 to 70 ohms is the resistance of the fuel sender.
This one is Not mine..its another members...PDX I think

Re: Recommendations on a Fuel Tank '66 c10

I also had a concern about the appearance of a rear mount tank. Here is my thread and I am still very pleased with my choice. Atfer seeing mine, I have helped two friends do the same conversion as well. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=621177

Re: Recommendations on a Fuel Tank '66 c10

I got mines from Tanks Inc. I happy with it but i had trouble top inlets because its not flush and the fitting were hard to match. But it works.
Mines was a 15-16 gal. which is enough for me. the truck is only city/short distance not traveling.

Wonder if there are any pictures of this tank installed with the bed cross sills also installed showing how the fill line fits with the cross sill?

I didn't do anything to the bed sills. It sits level with the frame rails, as far as fill options that's your choice, my decision was to fill behind the tail light but it'd be easy to do a bed fill if you wanted.

In a rear collision, if the tank ruptures and starts fire, at least it isn't in the cab with you and you have time to get out.
