Do I need to brace my cab?

I will be replacing the outer rockers and the outer floor in my 64 swb. I was wondering if I need to weld braces in the cab to do this.I have seen it done both ways but this is my first time.

Thanks!

rockers no
the floor it just depends on how much you are cutting out. If you are going to use the outer floor replacement panel in its full length I would go ahead and tack a brace on it horizontally. Whats it going to hurt?

Better be safe than sorry, I learned the hard way. I had to take a ratchet strap from the rear window, (window is removed) under the can and to the fire wall, squeezed that baby back together and tacked in a brace. I would do it.

brace the thing. if you have to ask just do it. It depends on how much you are cutting out. We do this all the time. Think about it! Every truck or car is different. You just can't make a decision without seeing it or without pics. sometimes you need to sometimes you don't. you should have been done by now
