Accelerator/Gas pedal problem

Hopefully im doing this right (newb)... so this might be a silly question but i couldnt find any info on how to install the accelerator pedal on my 63 chevy c20. When i purchased this truck it came pretty gutted and with many little missing pieces, so here i am on this journey to put my truck back to normal one piece at a time. Anyway, I bought the pedal and noticed that all i have on the floor are 2 holes, may or may not have threads, do i just try to install them with 2 screws or am i missing something entirely? Any help is much appreciated, thanks!

p.s
could post picture of the 2 holes if needed

Re: Accelerator/Gas pedal problem

If I'm not mistaken those should be threaded for two ball end studs to snap the gas pedal onto them.

Thanks! Do you know if the ball end studs vary through particular years? Cause ive only found ball end studs for 67 and later.

Re: Accelerator/Gas pedal problem

My 63 C10 uses 2 screws as well. The C20 might be different though.

Re: Accelerator/Gas pedal problem

The stud was 64-66. 60-63 uses 2 screws into the base of the pedal pad and it rests on the accelerator linkage. The linkage will go through the hole in the firewall right next to and above where the pedal sits. It has two bolts that mount it and then attach the manifold linkage to the pedal linkage. The pic above is good reference

Re: Accelerator/Gas pedal problem

That explains alot. My 62 came with the studs. The PO must have installed them. when I ordered a new peddle the holes in the peddle would not snap onto the studs so I cut little X's in them to make them fit. I wish I had known this about 9 years ago.

Re: Accelerator/Gas pedal problem

I know this is an old thread but we’re the 60-63 pedals that utilized the bolts in lieu of studs have a different bolt to bolt distance than the 64-66 ball stud to ball stud distance?

The floor of my 64 cab has a high hump and the holes where the gas pedal mounts on the floor are closer together then the mounting location of the full replacement floor I put in and the replacement gas pedal/ball studs. So I’m wondering if the pre 64 floors have the mounting bolts closer together.
