s10 swap, radiator support and trimming inner fender question

i just got my front end squared up and bolted to the cab. i have been following Chris's s10 swap to the letter so far, but I happen to run across a radiator support idea that i really like. This guy did 1x2" tubing and welding the first piece to the frame horns and then angled some tubing up to the bottom of the radiator support. i'm going to try it, but the problem i have is he cut a hell of a lot out of his radiator support in order to fit it above the power steering pump. I'll be making a template in the morning from poster board of the exact radiator dimensions to see how much room i have to play with. Will update.

my real question is how much are people cutting out of the inner fenders to clear the frame horns and upper A-arms? I don't want to go too far too quickly and really be SOL.

Re: s10 swap, radiator support and trimming inner fender question

I closely studied the pictures of some other members to get an idea of where to trim my inner fenders. I made reference of bend lines and bolt holes in the fenders.

I gave myself some room for error but my first cut came out pretty close. I trimmed mine to fit fairly tight and go up and around the a-arm so there was a bit of put-on/take-off to get to the final cut. My headers did interfere with the inner fender a little so I had to remove some material there.

Pics of my trimmed feders are in Post 74 of my build thread. Scroll down a bit and you'll see some front view pics.
