1978 k20 th400 - melting speedometer cables

The exhaust i built is too close to the th400 speedometer cable and melting if. Has anyone run a metal one or used a 90 degree adapter?

Wrap the cable with the high temp spark plug boot shielding?

There are plenty of thermal sleeve protectors on the market in just about any diameter that you would need. Just check Summit or Jegs.
