Hi guys was wondeing if any of you run the factory 567 rad with a big block. I will be running a pusher electric fan with it as well. It is a pretty beefy rad to begin with and the one I have is in good shape. The other question is with a th400 trans, there is no inlet/outlet in the rad for trans hookup. Some people say you have to run the trans through the rad, others say just run a big cooler. What say you? Thanks

If you have cooling problems you can get a big truck radiator that mounts in the same location, that is what I am installing because I am adding PS and A/C to mine this build. It is thicker and a little taller and wider. I ran a separate trans cooler for my TH350 for 15 years with no problems. Some say in colder climates you need to run it thru the radiator type to get it to proper temp to work but I can tell you my trans worked fine at sub zero F. temps. Install at "T" in the line and monitor the temp and adjust location, add a fan, etc. that's my plan. This build I moved it up under the passenger step next to the frame and left room for a fan if I need to add one.

You can use the stock radiator. I would get a temp gage for the trans cooler. You want it under 200F 180F or cooler is best .

yeah you should be fine. Use a exterior cooler. Their is no way to run it through the stock. If you buy a four core aftermarket most will require an ext cooler.Just for info not trying to sell you anything we carry these.

The stock rad should be fine for a big block, especially with that pusher fan. I put my tranny cooler in front of the rad and a puller on the inside. Do you still have room for both pusher and tranny cooler mounted to the front of the rad?
