Dual drum MC adapters

Og MC..7/16-24

New MC 1/2-20 front..9/16-18 rear

Front wheel cylinders are 7/16-20
Rear are 3/8-24...
Rear rubber hose is 7/16-20 male..3/8-24 female

I'm using existing line to the front T
and running new to rear line ..
What adapters do I need for the New MC to existing front line?
Plug for T?
For new rear line to existing rear line??

Haven't found definitive answers

Re: Dual drum MC adapters

I've found that it depends on the year you are working on. I know my 66 had factory 1/4" brake lines but the earlier trucks were 3/16" brake lines.

Re: Dual drum MC adapters

You need a 1/4" plug to in the tee where you pull the line to the rear out of. Then a 1/4" coupler to join the new line coming from the master for the rear brakes. Then take the master cylinder you have to the parts store and tell them you need to go to 1/4" lines from what you have and they will get you the fittings. Use the new nickle copper lines when you get your parts. So much easier to work with.

Re: Dual drum MC adapters

Did complete front brakes today (rear cylinder bolts messed up)
And put in a dual drum MC
Got one from a 67 C10..
Bolted right up (my 65 Does have an adjustable rod) but didn't have to touch it

1/2-20 male to 7/16-24 (1/4 line to front) adapter for front port
9/16-18 male to 3/8-24 (3/16 line to rear) for rear port
1/4 plug and 1/4 union

I had front port to rear and vice versa but was getting flow from front first and front wheels (back port) weren't bleeding..
Went got another adapter and put front port to front wheels and rear to rear

Bled quite a bit
A Lil spongy still but Way better than before

Re: Dual drum MC adapters

With the '67-'70 truck master cylinders, the front port is front brakes and rear port is rear brakes.
