Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

I took the radiator back out... dont need that anyway

Ill get to that part later on... Probably get a different radiator and if I have to I'll move the fill to give the clearance needed

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

FINALLY got my hood off the truck, let the fun began. This frees up a lot of parts . Spent a weekend building the bench. The platforms front and back have a gripping rubber sheet on top (recycled rubber and not expensive). I really like using this stuff. It makes for nice padding, and holds things in place. I just used the existing nuts in the hood and some hardware to four-point underneath. I really need the room. There's lots of storage underneath, and will easily push it into the driveway and onto a trailer. Over-kill, pretty much all 3" screws and 350 lb. casters.

The bow tie is the original off my truck. Until today it hasn't been cleaned or seen water in decades. The image doesn't do its justice. I couldn't make out any flaws in the chrome, though my eyes aren't great. It's good enough for my build, and I'm kinda picky.

I spent the entire day yesterday in the barn working on my 71 SWB 4x4. Got lost of the wiring finished, Just the fuel pump left to do today. Also worked on getting mounts/risers built for the ProCar Low back buckets.

This deal has been a 3 year process for a bad transmission.... But I'm almost to the finish line!!

I used Westley's Bleche White and an old brush from a carwash; ya know where the foamy soap comes out and you have to manually brush? I did not take it to the carwash. I used to own a carwash and I kept the brush when I sold it. That brush is one of the best brushes I have; soft enough where it doesn't scratch the paint, but enough stiffness where if you need a little "oomph", it'll cut thru it.

Tried to clean up firewall, but hard to reach some places and hated to mess w/the grease pencil markings. Wetsanded roof w/2000 grit. Had nice weather here in OK on Sat and Sunday, but had to work on the yard....ugh!!!
Helper lurking in upper right corner. Too bad she can't push a lawn mower!!!

Well, actually it was yesterday, but I got my frozen wipers working again. Just have to get some new blades and I can drive in the rain again.

Whenever it rains here...

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

Removed the inner grille from the outer. Don't know if there's an easier way, but unless you're willing to risk breaking the inner, seems the only way is to use a small cutting wheel and cutter piers on the plastic anchors. I was going to hang the inner on the wall, but realized that's asking for a break as well, so "we" sacrificed some Xmas storage for that and more. Really could use more storage around here, but I'll make it work.

Say, anyone know if there's a part number on the outer grille, other than a sticker that's no longer legible?

Got the timing dialed in and did my first 100' burnout on the new build and drove it for a good hour. Everything runs great and all the gauges and floor shifter are awesome. First time builder, the engine build was done with the help of the guys on this site, I couldn't have done it without em'.
