Re: New place to live?

You never marry just the girl, the family comes as part of the deal.

There was a really pretty girl I really liked in college, pretty sure it was mutual, but she literally had a bat **** crazy brother that was ALWAYS around, so I never pursued it. I'm 5'8" and he was dang near a foot taller than me... I think he was eventually diagnosed as bi-polar.

I must have lucked out, my wife's parents treat me better than her sometimes.

I agree you're stuck and women, no matter how much they say they can't stand them, don't like to be away from their family. Have you tried killing them with kindness? Nothing wrong with swallowing pride for family. Some of the stuff I absolutely couldn't stand about my parents took me until I was mid/late 20's to see they were only trying to help. When I was 22 it seemed like they were overbearing pains in the rear.

I would look into electrical. A little dangerous, but the pay can be very good and there's literally electric everywhere. I know Andy (ANDY4639) has made a good living working for Duke Power.

There is wisdom in this.
“For in doing so you will heap burning coals upon their heads”...
It’s a great metaphor for annihilating the issue. The ball is in your court.

Here ya go.. Don't know how close they are to you but its worth a shot. Whatever you do, don't give up or take no for an answer. Persistence pays off. No one is gonna hand you a shot at a future.

Re: New place to live?

I can relate to marrying into a crazy family. I'm looking to retire in Costa Rica or Belize just to get the hell away from her family. It won't work because the wife can't be away from the grand kids for more than 3-4 weeks, so I'm stuck living in a Northern State and hating my life.

Re: New place to live?

My wife and I got lucky with both sets of parents. Though I will say that both sides got checked out by each of us before we got married. Still, things can change as life changes.
