Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Well, it all started by fixing a seat belt. By the end I had the seat out, carpet out and door trim off. Now What???? LOL

Replaced the starter, easy swap once I returned the one given to me for the correct part. This thing is awesome, big smile everytime I drive it.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Bought it a present...
An NP241 planetary doubler off pirate. Not really a doubler since its 2.7:1 but...
Now I have a late NV4500 trans, (soon to have unless I get burned) doubler, NP205. All 32 spline.
I was working on an NP203/NP205 doubler and found that the NP241/NP205 setup was cheaper, easier, probably shorter and certainly weighs less, plus it's clockable to tck the 205 up out of the way.
I figured since a PO had scrapped the original 205 for a 208 for better gearing, I'd solve that problem for good. Also since I need to get the driveshafts cut, why not do it right the first time...

I parted a Suburban to get the round pattern NP205 and made about $700 so $650 for the doubler is painful, but I talked myself into it. Not too difficult.

Drove over to a friends and scavenged the clutch petal & linkage for a transmission swap.

I liked the wheels on my challenger so much, I found Boze made one pretty
close so I went with them, Plus they will build you what to want.

Is that a local truck? Floor looks a little rusty. Could just be the pic. Always cool to see more guys in and around lower AZ.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Well all I did today was add the rear brake distribution block to the axle. This weekend is a different answer I had two full days of thrash on the truck. I got the Seat modified to sit a couple inches lower. I also buttoned up the Air ride stuff so now I have absolutely no leaks. As soon as the new cable comes in for my camera I will get picture and a video of it doing it's thing.

I replaced the lock set, Doors, Ignition and Glove Box. On another note, I loaded my previous girlfriend on a truck headed to Florida! Bye Bye Baby! We had a 17 year affair, but it was time. Love my Truck!

Yes, she was beautiful. I just traded up for a 2 year younger model. In stead of the lean athlete, I went for the Corn Fed Iowa girl(Truck). It was a great car, all numbers matching and correct date codes. 350/350 4 speed. So far it seems truck parts are cheaper than Corvette parts.

Horne, What are you going to do with the floor. I have some rust as well, but my skills are not up to patching. I am not a Handy Manny.

Just so : built for comfort & work , not for speed .

Far less drama with the Iowa Girl too .

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Oh, but the curves you get to enjoy with that long and lean beauty!

When I finish my 70CST I will start on a C-3 for the wifey. Curvy hottie driving a curvy hottie.
But, I do agree, there is something about those low maintenance corn-feed girls that like working hard and getting dirty!

I'm an Old Fart, don't see real well at night any more so, the Old Dim T3 yellow headlights are gone, replaced with New Projection Headlights. Upgraded wiring harness & relays of course too.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

I painted my door panels today. It was finally 70 degrees here today & no wind! Yippee ki yay!!

The before and after pics. IMO the black looks sooooo much better than that orange/red panel. The replacement arm rests will be here next week. I also replaced the window channel weather stripping (door glass felt run channel) and the fuzzies aka the scrappers or anti-rattle on the driver side door. Yahoo!! no more glass rattle when I shut the door.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

I worked on replacing the passenger side window regulator. The whole door is just about gutted. Once I get the new window regulator installed then the new window channel weather stripping (door glass felt run channel) and the fuzzies aka the scrappers or anti-rattle will be installed. Then both doors will be done. Next will be the sound deadener, jute, carpet, cab weather-stripping & new door sills - after I replace that dang leaking heater core!

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Ordered a new carb, heater core, and blower motor from summit. Then placed a call to Porterbuilt for my suspension. It's going to be a long 6 weeks.
