Rear half shafts

Good day everyone.

Been battling a leaky rear shaft oil seal. Pulled out the half shaft and the seals looks new, as did the rear shoes. Which makes me think this has been done recently possibly just before I bought it.......
Looking at the half shaft there is a small area of galling around where the seal would sit and measuring the diameter of the shaft it's 15 thou undersize compared to the spec of the seal which is a timken 8477s.
My next thought was to order a couple of new shafts but I can't seem to find the right one. The axle is 30.125 inches from the spline side of the wheel end to the spline end but I have a 6 lug wheel and it is also a 12 bolt diff.......
Any ideas on where I can get a pair of these??

Thanks again.

Re: Rear half shafts

Post a picture of the end of the axle so we can see if it is bearing wear or the seal area worn. If it is bearing area you will need axles. Also let us know the year of the truck and the spline count.

Re: Rear half shafts

these usually work https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo...sn=633&jsn=633 these move the seal and bearing over slightly on the axle to an unworn area hope this helps
