Painting Utility bucket seats

I recently purchased these seats. Was more interested in the brackets in the seats than the upholstery, figured I would just reupholster them. They are however in very good condition with some minor blemishes. I've looked at the vinyl spray paint and thought at least on the internet it looked pretty good. However it would be a shame to paint parchment seat upholstery if one of you guys are looking for it. They are driver quality mostly a little dirty with some marks in the vinyl. I can take better pictures if anyone is interested in purchasing the vinyl ,not the hardware. Alternatively if someone has a bench seat that matches them I would trade my black bench seat which is in again driver equality with one small rip, no picture of that.

Re: Painting Utility bucket seats

Does appear to be original pattern... bought my mat. from SMS. Back in 1975, I painted my interior of my '62 chevy, didn't hold up on wear areas

I'd keep those seats until you can get them redone

Re: Painting Utility bucket seats

I read up on it, maybe they have improved the paint. If I am replacing the upholstery and so far no one on this forum has said they wanted them, why not paint them.

I agree with jaros,
Dashpads and door panels are fine, but I don't think the technology has come that far where I would do it on a seat.
Clean them up (Tilex spray)and put them in, it'll look great in that combo.

Hmmm, tilex spray. And white fronts with black bench combo. Never even considered it as a cool look. I'll post pictures when done, thanks.

Re: Painting Utility bucket seats

FYI the 69-70 bench seat brackets are the same one used on the driver side utility seat.
