What are your "tricks" for cleaning?
Currently trying to sell my truck and in the interior the dash has quite a few scuff marks from whatever the truck was used for. Just basically that sticky stuff from stickers and different colored paint marks all over the inside and was wondering what Your "tricks" are to cleaning up the inside?

Try the detailing forum.You can use WD40 but may get residue.Maybe some laquer thinner(don't smoke).But the details forum will probably have some ideas that are cleaner....

all kinds of tricks- but the subject is a bit broad...
most of the time a few basic cleaners will work. the following will get you started for your truck: - soap and hot water for general cleanup - diesel as a "bug and tar" remover - simple green is good stuff - home-made glass cleaner of vinegar and water with newspaper to polish the glass. - 0000 steel wool for chrome and stainless - as mentioned- WD40 has a million uses- it works for sticker residue, grease spots, etc. and once you clean up the engine compartment you can spray it down w/ WD for a nice shine. - a can of rubbing compound - and a bottle of good wax. Keep the above handy and you can have a decent looking anything! |

gojo hand cleaner has all sorts of uses many stains to fabric and upholstery can b removed by gentel rubbing and follow up with damp cloth works well on vinyl products as well as wires sticker residue cleanin steerin wheel dash pad
and it destroys nothing

Those blue scrubs that come in a small bucket are great at getting stains out of fabric. I use them to get grease out of my clothes all the time. 0000 wool works well on glass too if you put some compound on it. Also, clay bars are the most underrated cleaners I've ever used. Mothers makes a good kit.

My hard plastic armrests (Ford) have that phony leather grain in them. Nothing would clean them until I tries Wesleys Tire Bleach, worked like a champ.

I like to reburbish old plastic bezel surrounds, trim, etc. with cocoa butter-it gives it a sheen and a finish that looks as nice as NOS-wipe dry and the plastic will look brand new.

Try baby oil on your dash pad ,door gaskets ,vinyl seats and door panels .Its cheap and works great ,just put a little on a clean cloth and wipe it on .I let it soak a bit then wipe off the excess .Ive been using the same small bottle on my Chevelle for a few years ,its almost time for some more.
