Will a 2009 8.8 Ford Rear end fit?

All, does a 2009 Ford 8.8 Rear End fit under a 49 AD? I found this one on CL:

https://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/pts/5957336534.html

Thanks

Pat

What's the rearend out of? If it's a F150, No it will not. Way too wide.

Not for sure on other models. Crown Vic, Mustang, maybe.

The 94-04 Explorers are the ideal candidates.

Funny you should post this, just came home last night about 8:00 with one for my son's 63 Falcon.

I second this. And after '01 all the Explorers have disc brakes. Housing tag will tell you the gear ratio, and if is has an "L" ie: L3.73, that means "locking" (posi-trac).

Re: Will a 2009 8.8 Ford Rear end fit?

After looking at a few forums researching it I think that is a full size truck axle with the spring pads on top of the axle. The one Martinsr showed is upside down in the back of the truck and the spring pads are on the bottom side of the axle tubes.

There are several different widths on those over the years so measuring flange to flange (where the wheels mount) is a must do deal.

This is a racers site but has some good info http://www.toonutsracing.com/smf/index.php?topic=2121.
