81-87 front clips should never have been thought up if you ask me, the body lines on the 73-80s were sooooo much better looking.. I'd keep her the same colors it has been, just to show that she never died, kept on goin through the rough times in life...

Thanks much. Absolutely no plans for an 80's front clip. I already have enough people guessing it's an 80-something. I know the two-tone scheme is 80's style but yeah I like the look of the 70's trucks waaaay more. I don't dislike any 73-87 Chevy but I'm kinda glad that they separated the decades like that haha.
And I've been leaning towards the same paint job it's had all these years. I already know I like the look so I can't really go wrong with it.
Green was never one of my favorite colors either but I think my truck wears it very well. And I like how good it goes with the original tan interior.

After buying my first '72 C10 I said I'd never buy another truck without making sure I got the locking lug nut key...I forgot. Those things suck to remove without the key but 2 hours later I had all of them off and even salvaged my socket. Got the Boggers mocked up on my parts truck. I thought they looked great on there and can't wait to get them on my Silverado.

Still scrounging for stuff to do. Not much left without my truck. Changed the gear oil in both axles and installed some chrome diff covers from Summit. Unfortunately, I discovered that my Dana 60 has 4.56 gears. Regearing is not cheap!! Since my 14 bolt already has a posi, I think I'm going to put the higher gears in the front end.

I still gotta get the lift, axles, transfer case, and back window out of it. Then get it on my old 4" lift and 1/2 ton running gear and either part it out or sell it. Whatever I can do to recover most of the money I bought it with.

Haven't posted any progress in a while but I just got the truck out of the body shop a couple weeks ago so here's where it's at now. I think it looks even better now than it did before.

I really like a lot of the new additions like the chrome rear bumper, solid back window, and the shaved fuel doors. And the camo bow tie I made for the grill looks great on there. Also had a Crutchman spray in bedliner done and now I wish these guys were a national chain. They do very nice work for a good price. If you look at the bedliner photo you can see the flush fuel fillers. That pretty much brings you up to speed except I replaced my busted exhaust and got the windows tinted but didn't take any more recent pictures.

Pretty much done with the exterior for now. Gonna order a few more things from LMC/Year One but I'm more than happy with how everything looks now so I'm gonna get the new lift under it first. Hoping to make an order from ORD today to get the rest of the parts I need for the lift and axle swap. Whatcha think?

And here's where the parts truck sits now. All I've got left is the frame, bed, and front clip. Only need to make another $600 to make back what I paid for it. If I break even I will have gotten a new hood, bed, windshield, rear window, 8" lift, 14 bolt rear, and set of 36" Super Swamper on Weld wheels effectively for free. Looking like that was a great investment and I'm really happy that I bought it now.

The truck's been ALMOST done for a while now. At any rate, my build thread is way behind so here's trying to get it up to date. Took me a day to get the 6" springs and Dana 60 in place up front. Just looking at the front end, the truck took on a very nice stance on those Boggers.

Getting the rear end done wasn't so quick and easy. Decided to use the front spring hangers off the parts truck since one of mine was tweaked in the accident and already had to drill/grind rivets to install the ORD shackle flip kit. Took me almost two weeks of picking away at over 20 of the steel rivets holding the suspension brackets to the frame out back. Lots of drilling and grinding. But we had the truck at least rolling around again in less than a month.

The headliner was torn at the body shop when they removed the overhead trim on the back of the cab so I tried out a DIY headliner kit in Mossy Oak. actually turned out pretty good.

And I've since broken my phone so I lost a lot of the pictures of finishing off the truck. Installed an ORD rear disc brake conversion kit and converted the steering to a crossover setup. All in all, I was very pleased with the easy installation and performance of both these mods. Especially the brakes. Really happy to never have to deal with drums (on this truck at least) ever again.

But it's back on the road now. Here's a few pics of the ALMOST finished product. Still needs a new ring & pinion up front so the gear ratios match up and then I think I'll be able to call it done...for a few years.

Been through a couple sets of tires already. 35x16 Boggers on 16.5x14 Bart wheels but they rubbed a little so I had added another inch of lift up front and radiused the front fenders. Turned out pretty clean as it still utilizes the original wheel well trim. You can see it in the side pic on the TSLs.

Currently rolling on 36x14.50 TSL Radials on 9.75" wide Weld Mountain Crushers.

Sold the Boggers but now I'm looking for another set to wrap around my new 16.5x14 Weld Scorpio Vs. Didn't like the look of the black painted wheels on there but these things should look killer.
