Power window stuck down and it's raining.

I have just been repairing the master switch on the driver's side door of my 1987 GMC Suburban, I had some success, both passenger windows go up and down, but neither driver's side work. Well I tried the driver's side (left rear window and it worked going down, but not going up. And now it's raining. Any idea how I can get the window up? Thanks, for you help!

Run a jumper wire from the window motor to a 18v drill battery

Re: Power window stuck down and it's raining.

I was just wondering if I could switch the wires in the wiring harness on the back of the window switch. The dark green wire is supposed to be the "Down" wire and the purple wire is supposed to be the "Up" wire. Because it goes down, I am thinking I am getting power to the down green terminal; could I just take the green wire off and hook the purple wire to that terminal to get power to to put the window up, or would that fry something in the wires? Let me know what you think.

Re: Power window stuck down and it's raining.

Ex-GF had a mercedes 300 that would warp the doors and jam the windows so they wouldn't go up. My caveman solution was beat on the door panels while pressing the up button.
