Looks great
Its a shame the 6 had to go but this will be alot more fun!
Nice job.

BTW, Slams is correct about the air cleaner. If a float gets stuck the open foam they use in them can soak up gas. One backfire and you got some consternation.
I have also seen the foam break down and go into the carb.

So whats the specs on the engine?

The six threw a rod though the old pan. I still drove the truck home and to the place I out the motor in.
The air breather is just sitting there so no junk falls in the carb.
The motor is:
350 ci
LS9
4 bolt main
883 heads ( that is what I was told I did not build them.)
edelbrock Intake
edelbrock valve covers
Crane stamped rockers
crane lifters
high volume oil pump
double roller timming chain (might be crane as well)
new fuel pump, starter
rebiult q-jet
The cam and the heads were built for each other but I don't remember what the cam is.
Thats all I know so far.
still need alot to finnish but I am out of money for now.

I had one of those a long time ago on a car. Car backfired and set the foam on fire (didnt burn it all the way up, but still burnt half and melted half). Luckly it didnt flame up much and I got it put out.
