Does anyone have any pictures or instructions on how/where the bed to frame mount bolts go? 47-48 has an extra set of blocks (compared to 49-53). I am just wanting to bolt together the sheet metal to fit on the frame so I can design fuel tank, etc. I have the front panel, both side panels with fenders and all of the cross sills. The bed mount bolt kit I ordered didnt come with anything to mount the front crossmember to the front panel and this information is not in my factory assembly manual or in the shop manual.

That tooks some hunting.

Looking at the Mar-K bed for a 48 you can see that the recesses for the offset washers at he rear are at the rear crossmember and at the one just behind the hump for the axle. The ones in front of the hump don't have bolts going through the frame just the one at the front. This a terrible image but you can see the second recess for the washer for the bolt behind the hump. https://www.summitracing.com/oh/part...MaAv5FEALw_wcB

It's been since 1973 that I had the stock bedwood or stock type bedwood in my 48. The wood in the bed was about the best part of the truck when I bought it in March of 1973. I vaguely remember those bolts being there.

One thing I remember is that you want to get all of the bolts in and get the bed squared up exactly the way you want it before tightening any of them up.

That and I could be mistake as it has been so long but the correct bolts on the front go through both frame rails if memory serves right. I used some shorter bolts during the last go around because that is what I had on had and spent all too much time under the truck in a cramped position tightening the nuts. That I do remember.

My ongoing truck projects: 48 Chev 3100 that will run a 292 Six. 71 GMC 2500 that is getting a Cad 500 transplant. 77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.
