Re: 64 chevy swb on a 94 chevy caprice frame w/ lt1

Did some work on the firewall. After a great recommendation I am going to fill the last hole where the heater was at and smooth it all out then route the lines elsewhere..

The 78-96 caprices are all pretty much the same. The cutlas is probably shorter but a custom front will look sweet. I hope to finish the firewall this weekend and get it mounted on the truck. But the weather has to cooperate...

Great work on your truck! That's too bad on the a/c not fitting in there. But it'll be a more clean and easier install with an aftermarket kit.

Re: 1964 Caprick-up = (C10+SWB)*(94 Caprice 9C1+LT1)

Boy, I am tired of body work already. I would rather be fab'ing up the frame... The firewall, dash and windshield area are ready for primer. All of the holes in the firewall are filled. It turned out pretty good. I hope to prime it tomorrow or the next day so I can sit the cab back down and pray it still fits..

Painted the bottom half with POR15. So the top will be body color and the bottom will be gloss black. Not sure how that will look but it will be different...

Re: 1964 Caprick-up = (C10+SWB)*(94 Caprice 9C1+LT1)

Fused the clutch pedal to the caprice pedal assembly. The hole above the switches where the washers are welded on is the top mount. The caprice used the very top hole but mine is now on the side. Welded the nut on the back side and two washers for spacing.

The caprice assembly swings to the right of the column and the clutch pedal was used to swing it directly under the steering column.

sweeeeetnesssss!!!

Nice firewall work! The Caprick-up, LOL, is really coming along! Gotta love those old 9C1's! My dad has used a toilet bowl (throttle body) injected 9C1 350 in his long gone 66 C-10 longbed and a fuel injected 9c1 350 in his 64 C-10 stepside. He absolutly loved the fuel injected one. And of course i still have a 88 9C1 caprice that is gonna be restored some day. For now shes a daily driver/parts runner!

The grill mount will need some modification where is attaches under the radiator mount but that appear to be about it. Actually the curve of the caprice frame runs at the proper angle to connect the outer bumper mounts. Probably done until next Saturday...

The motors a great and I hope the frame and suspension rides as good as I hope.

The Caprick-up name came from a friend that has been following the build.

Re: 1964 Caprick-up = (C10+SWB)*(94 Caprice 9C1+LT1)

I didn't get much done this weekend... But I did manage to sit the bed back down on the frame. It is about 1/4 of an inch low but that was planned so I can shim it into place. Measuring 5 times, cutting halfway stopping and measuring three more times seemed to have payed off.
