Seat belt questions-------------

Were seat belts optional on certain years? I know that side markers were not required until 68 so does the same apply to seat belts? I seems like I remember seeing it as an option somewhere. Or were seat belts standard equipment on all the 67-72 trucks? Thanks for any info on this............

seatbelts

I am pretty sure that seatbelts were mandatory after the 1965 production year. Minnesota says you must wear them if your vehicle is equipped with them. (prior to 65 models)

Lap belts are standard in all these trucks...shoulder harnesses were optional.

Thanks for the info guys, that was so "NOT" what I wanted to hear. Ok, lap belts are going back in the truck. Unless, if someone can post a pic of their glovebox showing the optional shoulder seat belts, I bet I could pass it off to most of the cops that seat belts were an option in these trucks back in these years. Anyone have a pic of this option?

In FL, seatbelts are not required in cars up to '69 and trucks up to '72, but I use mine all the time.

Yep, they were required for our trucks. I think they were mandatory for 63, but I'd have to look it up.
