Weird electrical problem

2001 GMC Sierra 1500

When I turn on my dome/map light, it doesn't come on, but the message center says the cargo bed light is on. But it's not on either. This happens with both the driver and passenger dome lights. And if I turn on just the cargo light, it also does not work. Anybody ever experience this?

Re: Weird electrical problem

I'm getting frustrated with this damn truck. Now my drivers side electric window won't work. I looked into it last night, and there is a small cable inside the door that makes it work somehow. I pulled on one end of the cable, and it came all the way out. It was rusted in two, just like the damn tailgate cables. What is it with GMC and rust problems? I will most likely never buy another GM car or truck. And I don't like Ford very much either. I'm going with the Japs from now on. Screw this American made garbage.
