69 c20 - What was my Original interior color and seat fabric
I’m ready to restore the interior of my 1969 c20, which currently has a hodgepodge of interior parts. I’m missing one door panel (the other is black vinyl and embossed) really crappy aftermarket carpet and I think an early bench seat.
Can anyone help with what was originally in the truck? I have attached a picture of the SPID, and transposed the options: Options: BX2 B Side Molding Wide LWR C60 – Air Conditioning All Weather F52 Front Shock Absorber G50 HD Rear Spring SPRING REAR, HEAVY DUTY, VAR 1 J70 Brake Booster Equipped X28 Fuel Filter Equipped M49 Turbo Hydramatic P03 Chromed Hubcaps U63 Radio Push Button Z53 Ammeter Oil Guage Z81 – Camper Nameplate 630 Blk Custom Cloth Trim A11 – Tinted Glass B85 Body Side Molding DG4 W/C Mirror Jr. Left Hand and Right Hand F59 Front Stabilizer G70 R Susp-Leaf Spring K19 Exh emission control L47 396 Cu. 523 silver is your body color
630 black custom cloth trim is your interior trim color(ie, seat, steering wheel, dash pad, visors, door panels, mat/carpet ect.

Re: 69 c20 - What was my Original interior color and seat fabric
Here’s a pic from the brochure of 1969 Custom cloth upholstery, although it’s not black. At first glance it looks like other years’ seats but the panels are cut differently and the fabrics are a different pattern.
SMS Auto Fabrics is a good way to learn exactly what fabric was used—they have access to the original fabrics and will send you a quote with swatches. The Custom package would have gotten you a color-keyed vinyl floor mat. Carpet only came with the CST option, I believe. Ben

I think this is a little later model but looks similar to this.

Up North, they call a truck bed a ''Box''. So probably a 20 gallon Blazer style auxillary tank in the bed [Box] in addition to the 22 gallon behind-the-seat in-cab tank. C/20 with a big block? Probablly didn't want to leave home w/o 40-42 gallons on board, especially if it hauled a top camper.

The truck has gas fillers on either side of the bed, and an in cab switch, so either a single or dual saddle tanks would be my guess.
They have since been removed. |
