what door mirrors work and look best for our trucks ? pls post pics if you can ?

hey guys i was wondering could you post up some pics and or give me some ideas of what Sport door mirrors work and look best on our trucks ? because the stock mirrors just look so bulky to me on that long rod .. so i want to put on 2 sport type mirrors that will still allow my wing window to open up fully to its max because that how i get more air in my cab when driving . so ide like to keep them functioning the way they are meant to .. also another reason is that my doors on both are not drilled and tapped for the stock mirrors .... thanks in advance for all your help Happy Truckin

Man I like the look of the stock mirrors but dang they are useless. I'd love to see what others are doing. Certainly something I've thought of changing.

I have a 66 C20. Had really rusty West Coast juniors on it when i got it. Didn't like the rust, bought the stock arms and old jeep mirrors for the stock look. Hated them. Absolutely worthless bouncing around and too small, but they looked good. Bought some West Coast juniors from retrac, sorry no link, with the chevrons on them that came as a factory option way back when, and installed them. Actually useful, and they just fit right for the look on a C20.

I agree with Earl.

I have the stock placement square mirrors and they are ok, not crazy about the look but they are more useful than the 5” round ones.

Wow ok now how exactly are those mounted to our trucks doors ? My doors dont have any threaded holes in them for anything . The way that looks that reminds me of a motorcycle mirror mounting type ... so how would one go about mounting a pair of those ?

My truck had one West Coast Jr Mirror when I bought it. It has been giving me trouble for a while now so I went with a stock mirror. I just put it on today and had to drill out the old screws that were in there for 50 plus years. Oh fun. I will probably paint them white.

I think these mirrors are all GM cars from 67-69 at least. The vent windows only open to 90 degrees until they run into mirrors. They are 1 1/4" back from the front of the door edge & 2 1/2" below the vent window gasket.

I have the west coast on my 66 and I like the size, they can be a problem occasionally when at a stop sign. They can block your view and you have to get used to looking around them. Hopefully you don't hit anyone by doing a quick glance and not seeing a car coming. I prefer the look of them, what a truck should look like.

I only had one west coast Jr on my truck. It rusted a the bottom crease and broke. I used some Gorilla tape to hold it together for a few days. They really work like sails on the freeway. I also couldn't get the bolts to lock it back in place. See the tape.

x2 on the west coast junior mirrors, although it's more of a work truck look (which I like). It is kind of an issue looking around them at first, but not a giant deal once you get used to it, IMO. And on the other hand, with a set of 3" convex stick-on mirrors in the bottom outer corners, I really had no "blind spots" behind me to speak of.
