66 GMC suburban?

I have had SEVERAL of the 60-66 C10/ GMC trucks and have been looking for a panel or suburban.
My questions are
Are the GMC suburbans the same as truck having rear leafs instead of coils?
When replacing floors, rockers, cab supports are they the same as the trucks?
And any disadvantage of the GMC compared to the Chevrolet? thanks

The Panels and Suburbans are based on the truck chassis, so yes to the leafs versus coils. As for the body, most everything from the back of the doors forward is the same as a truck. The one exception is the passenger side outer floor.

Re: 66 GMC suburban?

The only disadvantage I see for some people would be the powertrain GMC came with a 305 or 351 & rear ends that are really torqued low. I might be wrong? Definitely not "Freeway flyers". As far Chevy you had so many different options, motors & trannies, rear ends combos that are freeway friendly. I maybe wrong I'm no expert.

what is the difference in the pass. side floor? is it a hard to find replacement panel?
what about any of the supports under the rear floor wood area? same as under a truck bed?

Re: 66 GMC suburban?

The passenger side front floor has a flat area in it to act as a step to access the rear passenger area. It is easily fabricated from sheet metal if needed. The only way you would find a replacement is from another Burb or Panel that someone may be parting out. It's been a while since I've been under my Suburban but I don't think there is much under the rear passenger and cargo area that is the same as under a pickup bed.
