Unhappy Balljoint problem

Trying to get lower balljoint off but the nut on the stud turns with it.Anyone have any ideas Ive tried everything I can think of.

clamp a set of "moon" vise grips around the ball joint?

What are "moon" vice grips? Do they have cupped jaws. Does sears have them.

yea the jaws are cupped..... sears should probaly have them

Thanks 68 should have better luck tommorrow,BTW is it possible to press in the new balljoints myself.

harbor freight has a ball joint install tool thats fairly cheap and a LIFE SAVER i hear.... but me i have a neighbor thats a machinst that has a 7 thousand buck press..... guess not everyones that lucky lol

Vice grips worked I've got all the arms off and cleaned now for new balljoints and reassembly and test drive can't wait. Thanks for the tip. This board rules.

Jack up the truck so the weight is on the balljoint and then try to take the nut off.That usually works for me.

Fast 68...Yeah I used the vice grips to hold the stud under the knuckle, let the grips wedge against the arm and used a wrench and hammer to shock it off......vice grips to take nut off,I'm not that stupid, well not today anyway.
