how do you not subscribe to every thread you visit ?

ive got emails out my ears

In your user CP on the right side, so to edit options, then there is a place where you can tell it to NOT to send email notificatison

I have never been subscribed to posts here... Thank goodness! I'll be back asking how to do this if it ever does happen.

I used to have tons of subscribes here. But didn't have it set up for notices. One day I went through all of them, so many were just not relevant anymore. I made a folder in my book mark manager. Labeled and saved the ones I wanted there. And now whenever there is a thread I just book mark it, re-label it so I know the reason I wanted to save that particular thread. Might be one post in a thread about a tool or something. That's how it gets saved and labeled. Now I don't have to log in and try to filter through a ton of threads.

I unsubscribe as I receive the email, just a habit I've gotten into with emails in general. Spam gets marked spam and goes there in the future, I receive very little unwanted mail doing it this way.
Also why I comment very little on the site.

I get notices of activity in the threads I have subscribed to.

I can read the current comment right there in the email, so I scan them quickly, and move on if I don't feel like making a comment.
