buying parts today

I have started another ls swap and been buying parts on ebay for the swap well I got in a part today its a fuel filter regulator with fittings I looked at the pic and just read quickly thru the ad and bought it ..it came in today and its a nice looking part but with no name brand on it . but I seen wix on the ad pic its hard to see unless you look close . here is the listing https://www.ebay.com/itm/Speed-2750K...72.m2749.l2649 well I emailed the seller and just asked why I didn't I get what i see in the pic he denied it and said I didn't see wix by just seeing just the w on it I am old and cant see good but I thought for sure it would be a wix brand filter but anyways if u see the pic and description just let me know you what think it is ?

I see WI also! But I'm willing to bet there's an X behind them. Classic "Bait & Switch".

Re: buying parts today

So as I understand it, the filter you got has nothing, not even the Wi?

If so, it's a bait and switch.

Re: buying parts today

Are they denying the part is listed as a WIX part or that the picture didn't say WIX? It's listed as a WIX.

Re: buying parts today

I finally found Wix in the description.

No bait and switch. Just switch.

yes. the filter has no marking at all . I went back and completely reread the whole description and seen the wix on the pic of the filter it shows 2750 k2 speed as there brand and 33737 wix as a interchange I emailed them and they said it wasn't a wix filter and offered a refund.. I am just tried of trying to find quailty parts seems like everything is made in china these days .

Re: buying parts today

China and bait and switch.

I was looking at Johnson Levels today at the hardware store.

I asked the salesman/owner where they were made. He proudly said USA.

I picked one up and there it was "Made in China".

He says, "They told me they were made in USA".

After looking, the longer ones were USA made, but the shorter ones, China.

You really have to stay on your toes, and that won't do it sometimes.

Now, back to your filter.

Wix is right there in the picture.

It's probably more trouble than it's worth, but I would send it back to make a point.

I am just going to keep it and use it anyways hopefully it will be ok for a little while .. I just hate ads like these on ebay I have sold and bought a bunch of stuff from ebay but never had any real problems I guess I am just having a rant I also bought some mirrors this week also they were advertised as oem but when I got them they were broke from poor packing and they were not oem gm parts like the ad said and with no turn signals .I got a complete refund after I contacted the seller but I still have no mirrors here is the listing.. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Power-Heate...72.m2748.l2649 now I still need to find me a set of oem mirrors

Re: buying parts today

Being straight up front makes for a clean done deal. The other leaves a trail of crap. Wix makes filters for other businesses that brand them as their own. NAPA Gold filters are actually WIX. I wonder if WIX even makes this part or if it is made by someone else with their name and part#.

Re: buying parts today

I have a buddy that has had the bait and switch done to him on eBay too. He tries not to buy from there anymore.

I don't know maybe it's just me being old fashioned, but I think it's a complete waste of materials to produce a cheap piece of junk that either doesn't work and gets thrown out, or breaks and gets thrown out.
