A few photos from the Yakima swap meet

One of the local vintage car groups puts on a fairly decent little swap meet at the Yakima fair grounds every June and I ran up yesterday morning to see what was there that I couldn't do without and take a few photos of the interesting stuff.

For the AD folks was this chopped longbed. Nice chop but on a long bed?






Then a project truck that got sold it appears




I didn't see a price nor did i ask




A small wing tank for someone wanting to build a very small belly tank car or it would make a nifty trailer.


Gotta go OT here but this Chevelle belongs to one of my former students and close friends who has owned it as long as I have known him. One would be hard pressed to find a nicer big block Heavy Chevy

Serious discussion around a 55 two door post with lots of hand movement. Rather like walking up on a church session.



3pretty decent AD doors for 20 for one an 35 for the other two and I took the car rather than the truck yesterday.


For the 4 light TF guys here is a nice one. I didn't snoop as to price or anything as my knee was screaming I wanna go home about that time.


Not the worse places to spend a Saturday and one of the best rated Taco trucks is a block away.

Wow..that's a deal on those ad doors..I looked at a set locally the other day and the guy wanted 500 for the pair.. (he's still gottem)..

There wasn't much AD truck stuff there this year outside of the doors. I bought some small pieces for my other projects at really good prices. A couple of the vendors were obviously on a clean out the shed mission and their prices were real friendly . I even told the buddy of one vendor who had sold me a piece when the real seller was gone to find me if he sold it too cheap. I bought a real nice left side header for a flathead Ford for 20 that I can cut up and modify for my Model A Victoria and not cringe about it's value. My friend with the Chevelle sold his old side glass for his 55 BelAir tudor post that he is building as a big block pro street rig. This one is going to be a serious contender in the 55 Chevy pro street brigade when it is done.

If I had taken the flatbed and more cash I would have come home with the doors and an 82 Chevy dualie rear axle assembly that would have either gone under my dualie flatbed or the 51 1-1/2 ton flatbed that my daughter wants to build that I picked up a 77 Dualie front suspension and rear springs still atttatched to the dualie frame for on Friday after a 260 mile round trip to East Wenachee.

That looks like it was a good show/swap meet. I need to find one like that a little closer to home,got the 41 chevy coupe to sell

That's only a 95.2 miles from your front door. A real laid back event and the car show part doesn't cost any extra to be in. More like privileged parking on the grass for specialty vehicles.

That coupe should be an easy sell if it is reasonably decent.

thats a pretty rare chevelle, not the heavy chevy part those were everywhere, my best friend when I moved to kansas had one with a 307 although he kept telling me it was a 350. my father in law had one behind his shop for as long as I knew him too, 22+ years

the uptake of a heavy chevy stripe kit with a 402 BBC and cowl induction though, someone went bananas on the option list.

is that a 36 ford cabriolet in your last picture?

I think Stacy's Chevelle had a 402 in it when he first started in auto shop. He has had several engines in it since I first met him in 1978 when he was a sophomore in high school.

That little black 36 Ford is a roadster. Sweet little car too.

I didn't take as many parts photos as I thought I did this time.

I didn't take a photo of the 82 dualie rear axle (complete with U bolts) that would go nice with the parts I brought home Friday for the 51 1-1/2 ton but I didn't have that much spending money Saturday and it wouldn't fit in my trunk.

Decent showing this year. Didn't buy much this time but I got a heck of a deal on a 6 volt optima battery.

I saw the belly tank.And it reminded me about the car my friends Dad and brothers had,They still have a few Bonneville salt flat records, But it would make a nice trailer

That one was on the small side for building a car out of but it would make a nifty trailer. It was pretty rough though. Back in the 50's and 60's you saw a lot of those on the sides of houses for stove oil barrels as they could be bought at surplus stores real cheap then.
