Can i heat the steering arms using a propane torch? I don't have access to oxy-acetylene

Won't be able to get it red hot over a large enough area even if using MAPP.

i was afraid someone would say that. I want to get this done tonight.. only other option would be to slice the arm part way through, bend it and then re-weld.. but i'm not a great welder. and this is steering components here!

That wouldn't be acceptable if you aren't a few steps above a first class welder.

Remember, anytime you get in a big honking rush you end up screwing something up.

I'd take a bit of time but you could pull the hubs, unbolt the steering arms and take them off and take them to someone who has a torch that can heat and bend them in a vise.

After you bend them you will have to reset the toe in as bending the arms in will increase the toe in.

I couldn't' agree more. I have them off now anyhow, so i'll try and get someone to bend them in the morning as i need the truck in the afternoon.
I need to get my own o/a setup i think.

I don't use mine as much as I used to but they sure are handy when you need them.

I'm happy to report that i was able to find a used set last night and the tanks were full. I have a friend coming over this morning to teach me how to user it. I'll get this done safely this morning, no rushing...
