Do guys that lay frame have to raise the gas tank up??

Often, then they are usually raising the bed floor at that point. Some of the aftermarket tanks(boyds welding, vaporworx, etc) have a chamfer to allow extra clearance, but they can be raised to the top of the frame rail if going silly low

Re: Granny smith, 71 2wd build

Drove by a junkyard yesterday and they had just brought in a 68 camper special. Pulled the grill out of it and had it in my blaze within a hour. I have been taking it to shows when I can. The response it gets is great. This winter I'm going to patch the drivers quarter, and try to color match the rest of the patina. If I have money/time I'll get a air system for it.

Re: Granny smith, 71 2wd build

I'll post some aired out pics. The front would go lower if I'd get rid of the 75 series front tires. They are hitting the wheel wells.

Re: Granny smith, 71 2wd build

Front grill looks like in good shape. I got mine from 10 bucks at a yard right before they crushed the c10 it was sitting in. Was sad to see it die. But I saved a couple parts off it before it did.
