Chevy Sport Truck questions

where can i find this grille for a 92 chevy truck 1500 extended cab??
my dad has been looking for one just to see a price on it
and i took a pic from the one guy on this thread i hope that's not a problem but i couldn't find another pic of that grille. if someone could send me a link of where i can find one and the price and it would help so much. thanks

The first is listed for $79.95. I doubt the quality of LMC's is any better, but they want $129.95 for theirs. And I looked on http://www.car-part.com (search 1990/Chevy Truck 1500 series/Grille, then "Composite Headlamps, Painted") to see if there were any in a junkyard near Leesburg, NJ, but it looks like the closest one would be Philadelphia. That's a long way to go for one that might be in poor condition when you get there. Hope this helps!!

Now that we're in our 5th year on this sport truck thread, I'd like to thank everyone for your contributions. Some really good information has surfaced and it's been fun looking at all the neat examples.

I'll throw mine in the mix . It is a BYP coded , 2wd , 5.7 , 700r4 , 3.08 open . I am the 3rd owner and it came out of Goergia . I have a build thread on it . Mine had the sport emblems on the bed sides and these on the side moldings .

my neighbor has a white 1990 sport ,350 with blue interior..painted grille and the fog lights..,wheels...true sport..It needs a transmission now...

Interesting, I didn't know the sports ever got the blue interior...I always thought my blue interior would be the biggest obstacle to me building a sport clone...

I have a friend that has 2 454 ss one is white and one is black . The white one came from California . When he flew in to pick it up the guy he bought it from had a Blue one (454 SS ) he checke dthe RPO codes on the Blue one and it was factory .

Black one for sale in Ontario. Not mine.

The kilometres works out to about 190,000 miles. Pricey.

The front side markers on that truck are amber . Mine are clear . Guessing the amber ones ar original . Also my 91 has the rainbow dash , this one has the needle dash . Wonder what it would take to swap mine to needles ?

your steering column mount is different..the 95-up with air bags are modular columns..the 94 back are the standard gm column..

It can be done...Would like to see pics of one that has been swapped over to see what they did with the ower trim panel...

That Sport has a 94+ grille swap, looks good.

Cool thread, glad I found it. I have a 90 Sport350. I've gone the custom route. There are a few things I have made sure to keep. The air dam/fog lights, steering wheel, short buckets.

Now, here's some interesting info on the 1993 Sport. As was pointed out by BIG MAC several pages back (post #166), the 1993 Sport was a sportside (stepside) only model - 2x4 or 4x4.

And strangely, the front end was a W/T design while the interior was based on the topline Silverado.





And for those who asked, yes blue was definitely available on Summit White Sports.

They for got the diesel front bumper!

I've never seen a blue int. Sport but then I've never seen the wind.

Well after my friend has been riding in my sport truck he kinda feel in luv with it. He's been watching for one to pop up and finally found one.. motor overheated and is pumping water out the tail pipe a couple of feet. It has 45K original miles! appears like its all stock except the new exhaust. No power windows.. no power door locks..no oil cooler lines.. and its split bench with a 5-speed. He got it for 1300bucks.. I seen another awhile back with a 4.3V6 motor and was questioning its originality. I was reading that the sport package motors did come with V6's. I recently added a MSD ignition to mine dual condensor fans,cup holder,and roll pan.Both trucks my friends and mine were attempted to be stolen from previous owners. I havent been on here in quite sometime but WOW thread is still going!! right on!!
