Different length intake bolts???

Okay I am replacing my intake gaskets on my 78 5.7L 350 motor, it has the stock intake manifold. I got the bolts mixed up and I am not sure where they go. I know there is 3 long bolts and 3 short bolts on the left side. The right side has 2 long bolts (which one of the long one goes through the bracket back by the distributor and four short bolts. My manual doesn't say anything about the location of them.

Re: Different length intake bolts???

Can you look at the intake and figure it out. What I mean is is there more material or a "step up" where certain longer bolts would go and likewise are there "recessed" holes that would require shorter. You can run them in and see if they bottom or not. I haven't looked at a stock manifold in awhile.
Good Luck

There are some intake holes that if along bolt is installed will lock down the pushrod. If memory serves its the holes around # 3,4,5,6 intake.
