I am also interested in the rear end setup and I think there is enough information there to get a conversion for my truck but I want to do the front end first. I would really appreciate more information on that front end.
I really like the build and I hope that your son is doing much better now that you have a better idea what's going on.

My '65 was a farm truck and I'm the 3rd registered owner but the second driver the truck was sold to a salvage yard and that owner only drove the truck to his yard a mile away. I the farmer had swapped in a newer motor - 307cid with heads with harden seats so I don't have to worry about the lead free gas. But it still has the original 4spd with granny and rear end and I don't think the truck will get on the freeway until I re-gear it.

Appreciate your post and build - John
Thank you sir the front disk brake set up was from CPP and it cost about $1000 bucks. In my opinion it was not worth the money I spent. Afterwards I found out that you can simply swap a later year 72 to 84 front K member with disk brakes for a lot less. That is what I did for my son's 63 one ton truck. the rear end I purchased used. It had 373 gears. I'm in the process of converting it to disk brakes to. Hope this helps hit me up any time.

Re: here's my truck 65 c20

Good Morning Budman56 - Would you happen to have your measurement from the backing plate mount to backing plate mount. I am looking at a '89 Dana 70 GMC/Chevy axle and want to make sure I'm not looking at the wrong size axle.
- Thanks
