Disc brake clearance question

Hey guys
Installed the CPP front disc brake kit on my 66 C-10 and the calipers are now causing clearance issue with the wheels.
Any recommendations to fix this and still keep the stock steel wheel look?
Thanks as always

I assume you are running 6-lug disc brakes up front?
Two choices:
1) Run a spacer to move the stock wheels out.
2) Use 71-87 4x4 steel wheels.
These have 4-nubs for the hubcap vs the 3-nubs that yours have.
But they are getting harder to find every day.
4x4 Trucks, blazers and suburbans all had them.

Re: Disc brake clearance question

The stock 15" wheels for these trucks are not disc brake compatible.

Re: Disc brake clearance question

this interests me, because I recently installed the regular CPP 2.5" drop spindles, and my stock 15" wheels (3 nub) clear the calipers....just barely but they clear. Is this unheard of?

Re: Disc brake clearance question

It's not UNHEARD of that they don't rub, but I'd say you're pretty lucky. Generally speaking, if you want "stock" steelies and want to stay 6 lug, you need to do what Keith mentions above - 71 and newer K5/K10 wheels will do the trick for your truck, assuming a stock-type single piston caliper. Bigger calipers, not sure. These wheels generally have 4 nubs as a quick ID feature - but, more importantly, they have clearance on the inside of the rime where the caliper resides.

Re: Disc brake clearance question

Thanks for all of the answers.
Ended up going with Wheel Vintiques steel and they work great.
Have a great day!
