AC System: Piece Together?

I have a factory AC vehicle but the only thing left is the condenser. I need to put AC in but I plan to do a LS Swap next year. I am considering pulling a complete AC system from a LS vehicle and trying to mount in the original box outside the cab and change the pulley to v-belt (for now). Does this seem feasible? My vehicle isn't quite worth spending $1,500 on a Vintage Air System plus I would still need to change at least the pulley when I do a swap. My heating core, blower motor, gaskets, cables etc are all new as well. Any other potential cheap(ish) solutions to get AC now and require minimal cost when doing the swap would be appreciated?

The square body evaporators will fit in your case. I did that on a previous 68 I had with factory a/c. I should have gone with a parallel flow condenser too, but it worked ok with the stock tube style.
I was using a sanden compressor, so that’s why I switched to cycling clutch.

Good to know about the evap, that would eliminate the POA valve. Do the square bodies have a v-belt or serpentine compressor?

You could use whatever year compressor works for your accessory drive. I ran a v-belt sanden because it worked for my 454 with a short water pump.
