Original Tire Size for 1971 C-10??

Does anyone out there have an idea of the factory tire size on a 67-72 1/2 ton 2WD short wide box? I am looking at the lowering parts on LMC Trucks magazine showing how low the truck will end up from "factory" height. The problem being... My truck has shorter tires than original, causing it to already be lower.... but how much? Anything helps. Thanks.

If a factory spare would be the same, my factory spare was 8.25 X 15.

By the way.... to the board from Mid-MO!!!

And we need a few pics of your truck to ensure those factory looking tires will truly fit the overall look... oh heck, who am I kidding? We just love pics!!!

Thanks, I'll look into that. I'll have to take some pictures of the truck. As it sits now... 1967 C-10, 454, muncie 4 speed, posi 3.73, lowered, but not correctly. main purpose behind my post. haha.

Yeah,8.25x15/4PR (equivalent 205R15) was standard on C10s but there were a few options.

Re: Original Tire Size for 1971 C-10??

According to the SPID, my 70 long bed C-10 was equipped with a G78-15. It crosses to a 225/75-15. Looks a little small on a 5-1/2" rim so I may have gotten away with a 235.

Re: Original Tire Size for 1971 C-10??

thanks for all your information. I think I am going to end up with 2 1/2" drop spindles in the front with stock springs and 4" drop springs in the back. I don't want to go too low. Plus I'm sure I will be much more happy with the ride.
