Re: remote starter
You'll probably get more response if you tell us what your problem is and why you want to jump the starter solenoid wire.

Re: remote starter
install a remote solenoid on the fender well/firewall and convert your GM starter to a one wire operation, simple to do..
remote start/bump over engine with handheld thumb switch by jumping B+ secondary lug or B+ at the battery to the primary S lug.. this is also popular conversion for folks with headers, eliminates live B+ cable running down there except while cranking.. also pulls the B+ running to vehicle fuse box/distribution panel up from the starter to safer and accessible location in engine compartment.. this is certainly one design aspect advantage f o r d had over GM search 'convert GM starter to remote solenoid' for more info.. good luck! looks something like this;

Re: remote starter
You could splice into the purple wire coming throught the firewall above the starter. Or make it a little more presentable by crimping another wire to the purple wire's terminal, again at the firewall connector. You could keep it short or run it over to the right fender well to a junction block stud. That would give you a quick and easy place to clip the remote start alligator clip.
