New project teaser picture

I don't post much, but I thought I would tease everyone with a picture of a potential project I found.

I am not sure if the owner is interested and then I have the issue with the location of the trucks. I am on the West Coast and these trucks are in Maui.

I see a '55 a '56 and a C10 '63-'66 but can't see enough detail to tell what year.

Are you serious about shipping from Hawaii to th west coast? Not worth the shipping costs are they? Or did you post this as a joke?

Yeah, not going to happen. I already finished one project and I still need to get my dads 72 1 ton finished.

I bet the shipping is way much less coming back then it is to ship over.
If I was on the west coast I would pursue these before mother nature takes them back.

Re: New project teaser picture

The last time we were there, I saw a Nomad that would have completely crumbled from rust if I had touched it.

That is a beautiful truck. I could be forced to drive it.

Re: New project teaser picture

My wife's family is from Maui, and yes there is a serious rust problem with the constant exposure to the salt spray. In fact her uncle makes regular trips to the mainland specifically to find and ship back rust free examples of old American Iron. The shipping costs are not a bad as you would think, similar to a interstate big rig transfer ($1000), but obviously not cost effective for a project in need of a frame off restoration. The big headache is getting specialty parts send at a reasonable cost. Most Hawaiians have their stuff sent to mainland relatives and bring it home as personal luggage after family visits.

Re: New project teaser picture

There is a week long cruise/car show on the big island called "Cruise Paradise", I think. If my truck finally meets all my expectations, I've thought of advertising it for sale in advance and shipping it over and doing that week long cruise. A prospective buyer being able to touch and see it and having it already there might be good for the price. Kind of a gamble but, what the hell, it's on my bucket list to do that cruise.

Warren at our age and good health today, just do it !
Just add the cost of shipping it back or lower the price a bit to take care of return shipping
