1972 GMC 402 C I radiator mounting question

Howdy - is there a top piece that mounts across the top of the radiator under the two upper radiator clamps or do the clamps mount directly onto the top of the radiator?

Re: 1972 GMC 402 C I radiator mounting question

My "clamps" go right over the radiator. Seems like this is they way it is suppose to be since they fit perfectly. But then again, my truck isn't very stock even though the radiator appears to be.

There is a rubber piece that goes between the clamp and radiator both top and bottom if that helps any.

^^^^

Like these, if yours are not there. Except you probably need them for a four core radiator with the 402, these are for a 3 core.

I don't know who handles the 4 core ones, you will have to do some searching on that.
