Sell or No Sell GM 8 Track Poll

I bought this 8 track back in 2008 - The mechanics have been gone through but it will need a paint job.
Also - somewhere I have the NOS knobs. .
Having had it this long ... I am starting to think it will never get it installed in my truck.
I know GM 8 tracks do not come up for sell that often - I just want to be sure of my descison.
Thanks

This being the case ... would you sell or keep it just in case you might install it.

Oh ... this is "not" a for sale thread. If I sell it - it will go on here vs eBay.

Thanks

Re: Sell or No Sell GM 8 Track Poll

I have sold so many rare parts not thinking I would use them and found out later I really needed it. And then try to find one Immediately after for the price you sold it for. I say unless you really need the cash or a buddy just needs that Single piece for his build to be complete keep it.

Re: Sell or No Sell GM 8 Track Poll

If not in need of money, box it and put it away. it doesn't take up much space..I'll even volunteer to store it here! LOL

Re: Sell or No Sell GM 8 Track Poll

Put it in the truck with the old knobs. Save the NOS knobs for when you do sell it. Unless your truck is finished, then add the knobs!

Re: Sell or No Sell GM 8 Track Poll

I say keep it as well.

That being said, this is probably the worst place for you to ask this question, as i believe most of us here suffer from some form hoarding brought on by an unhealthy attachment to these trucks.

Unless you have a decent collection of USABLE 8 tracks that you like, sell it.

It can degrade while it sits there making it worthless...

Re: Sell or No Sell GM 8 Track Poll

I'd sell it. I used to get giddy over having all the bells & whistles available. But now I don't want anything I can't use. It's a novel thing and all that, but about anything else will be a better choice for listening to music, which is their purpose. I had a N.O.S. tissue dispenser. One day it hit me I rarely use tissues, it would be there on the hump in the way making vacuuming harder, and a tissue dispenser in a K/20? Really?? How wimpy is that???

I even sold the bucket seat, console, and custom made covers because in the end it's more important to be able to haul two passengers or a dog, have a place to pile my junk, and I had a nice correct bench seat with good cover just sitting in the shop. Hmmm... even back then I got $300 for covers, $300 for N.O.S. console, and $450 for the bucket seats while my free seat just sat there waiting for mice to chew into it.

I had N.O.S. shoulder belts, too. Sold 'em. They are a pain in the butt to wear. I feel like a Mexican bandito with gun belts over both shoulders. Two stinkin' buckles to deal with every time you get in or out. They were like an after thought and nothing like wearing shoulder belts designed for the vehicle to be convenient. I love these trucks and it's all about driving them for me. So, I'd take the money and run. You could have some nice music in your truck with the money. Something that will work and hold up way better than an 8-track

I hear you ....

I have had this for about 8 yrs and its been mechanically gone through. The fact I haven't installed it after this time - maybe its time to let her go.

Congrats ...

To me it was worth that to the guy who need that final option.

As said - I think I'm going to sell mine.

I say sell because the money you get for it could buy a lot of things you'd actually use.
