06 SS rear latch noise question

It's been a while since I've been here. Hopefully this is the correct place for this question and the attachment. When i open the rear tailgate of my 06 TBSS there's a clicking noise that continues while gate is open. The noise quits when I shut the gate. I checked the wire looms for bad connections, and found nothing. Any help or ideas would be appreciated. Hoping maybe someone has encountered this. TIA

Re: 06 SS rear latch noise question

I might try removing the interior trim so you can get a look inside at the latch and the rear wiper.
It may need to be lubricated but that's a WAG.

Re: 06 SS rear latch noise question

We used to have an 02 Bravada, which was basically a Trailblazer.
Had many problems with the rear hatch, most caused by dirt that accumulated inside where all the business is. We live in the country and drive gravel roads for a couple of miles daily.
Ended up taking the panel off the interior and super cleaning and lubing the inside.
That solved the problems. I don't remember the exact problems we were having, but some of it was the power latch. My son had a TBSS for a time but I don't think he had it long enough to experience those troubles.

Re: 06 SS rear latch noise question

Thanks for the info. Sounds like I'll be taking some of the interior panels off.
