Re: Yellow fleetside -66 from Sweden

In past years I`ve used steel wool, just cut a sreen to the size of the pipe, insert steel wool then screen or expanded metal, run a bolt thru the pipe to hold in place until inspection is done, remove when all is good.

Ģot everything hooked up yesterday and had a go at start the dirty 350 but starter kept giving us a hard time. So today i pulled it apart and cleaned it up and gave it some grease. Then it was just to turn the key and it fired right away. Think the exhaust still is too loud. Going to add one moore silencer. :-)

Re: Yellow fleetside -66 from Sweden

I have never seen two mufflers on a single system. I will bet that is a lot quieter!

Welcome to the forum. Too bad registration takes so much work, but it will be worth it once you're out on the road. Nice looking truck!

Re: Yellow fleetside -66 from Sweden

Time for update!

Now its roadlegal in Sweden!!! It passed the inspection without any complains. Couple of days after the registration i began to remove my friends engine and i put in my 383. Last weekend i got it running and man does it run! :-) No problem to lay some rubber. Next thing to do: move the altenator down low. I donīt like the top mounting!

Hej Zekee,
I see that another fellow from Sweden joined the great forum.
Your truck looks awesome and I salute you for making it through the inspection.

Are you going to make it to Power Meet this year?
I know that there is some other Swedish guys here too, would be cool to meet up there if possible!

Ha det gott!
Johnny

Cool build and a great looking truck. Glad you passed all the inspections and paperwork and got it legal.

Are you going to keep the single exhaust to avoid interest from the law?

^^^ After getting your PM regarding the misplacement of them, I sent one over to him about a month ago. Tracking shows it's in country and probably help at customs for a bit.

Re: Yellow fleetside -66 from Sweden

Hey man that's my old truck. I bought it in 2001, in Corvallis oregon. My dad and I painted it and did the disc brakes, suspension and mini spool in the rear axle. I had a local shop build the motor and at the time was a 350 bored .040 over, 10.72:1 holley 750 dp comp solid lifter .532 .555 cam. Some one bought it in an auction we put it in in 2003 an I've never seen or heard of where it went until now. Congrats on the score and take care! I will always miss that one!

Re: Yellow fleetside -66 from Sweden

as far as rust, there was a small amount in the windshield opening that got taken care of and also a small spot in drivers door and lower front fender that got patched as well. Was one of the most solid, rust free trucks I've seen!
