Electric fan ? -or- not
What is the benefit of an electric fan over the stock belt driven fan ? A 6.0 in a 1963 GMC is not going to suffer from lack of horse power because of the belt driven fan.
I have a stock belt driven fan, why don’t I just use it ? ..

Re: Electric fan ? -or- not
If you've got a shroud that fits properly your belt-driven fan should work fine.

Re: Electric fan ? -or- not
Electric would be more fuel-efficient. You'll likely never notice, though, particularly if your coming from a 1960's stovebolt-six. Like Mongocanfly mentioned, the main thing is whether your fan and shroud line up well enough to make it work.
I'm going with electric myself. A lot of my trips will be very short. 1/2 to 2 miles. I expect the fans to never even come on during those trips. If I'm driving further, I'll be cruising at highway speeds, and will very seldom sit in traffic. Again, the fans won't come on. I could probably skip the fans, and never miss them 95% of the time.

Re: Electric fan ? -or- not
I agree with using the water pump driven fan if it lines up. Using a proper fitting fan, clutch and fan shroud in my opinion can't be beat. The reason some people use an electric fan are modifications that make it difficult if at all to use a belt driven fan. I've used them in the past because of that same reason.
