Vinyl Door Panels

I have a so-so pair of bright red (Now $20), a single very nice driver side same panel ($25) SOLD!, and a hard to find single very very nice black '69 w/GMC embossed passenger side ($30). They could be cleaned up better and edges glued. The so-so panels are usable. Hoping they'll help someone out for cheap.

If interested, give zip code for shipping quote. If purchasing, I'd like a postal money order for payment.

The pair:

Re: Vinyl Door Panels

I had the red panels for my '67 project to run till it got closer to being refined. The black one I just liked and it's rare. This red panel is sold.

Re: Vinyl Door Panels

I believe I do have the strips. They are chrome for the vinyl covered panels, but you want to paint, right? Let me check for those

Re: Vinyl Door Panels

I do have one spare pair of the retainers. The chrome is only so-so, but if you want to paint they'll be perfect. The chrome always looks worse off the truck.

Re: Vinyl Door Panels

No problem. I bought a really nicely done black set of buddy buckets, so I've switched from red to black, too. Too bad you're not doing red. I let the red buddy buckets go but still have a primo set of red belts, visors w/clips, and dash pad I may decide to sell at some point. These panels were in a building I needed to clear out to do major work on, so trying to sell. The rest is in good keeping.

Re: Vinyl Door Panels

With this talk about changing colors it has occurred to me these can always be dyed. The dye these days is awesome. I took odds & ends Cheyenne interior pieces and dyed them black for the '71 Custom/30 wrecker I had and it all held up great!

Also, the pair would make great cores for new covers at this price. Reproductions are Crapstic, I mean plastic crap.

Another option would pull vinyl, strip glue, and paint for base trim panels. These are good steel panels.

I just don't need this stuff

Re: Vinyl Door Panels

EDIT: This deal didn't go through. Still available 11/6

Also, just want to point out, in case you didn't notice, the passenger side (2nd one shown) vinyl is torn for a length of the bottom edge. Doesn't make it around the edge. Some gluing obviously needed on both and probably that torn one could be glued so it isn't really noticeable. I can take a close-up if you want. I consider them cores or for what I had them for, to have old door panels in an old truck that fit the character.

Re: Vinyl Door Panels

I will say yes to the retainers in that I have never replaced door panels. ... I will trust your judgement on what to send. the panels look exact or very close match to what I have so they will be good. thanks, I am heading in the direction of a Patina preservation look with a good interior. . p.s. shipping will work out too in that those are the ones I want. ....don't wait 3 weeks or I will be broke again

Re: Vinyl Door Panels

Ok, If you truck had plain steel panels those painted retainers won't work with the added thickness from the vinyl and you'll need the chrome. Now you said nice interior and I'm not sure you mean nice condition or nice as in fancier. I took pictures of the not so good for you to be aware of. Honestly, I hadn't looked so close till taking the pics.

That bottom edge area looks not as bad. It is split along the edge, but looks like vinyl makes it to the edge where you could glue it to cover steel. Should look alright from unless you lay on the ground. There's the white paint to deal with. And what I didn't notice are the corners that make me unsure now. Here are pics...

Bottom edge:

Size: 18.6 KB
Corners:
Name: IMG_2214.jpg
Views: 568
Size: 18.9 KB
Name: IMG_2213.jpg
Views: 567
Size: 23.4 KB
Name: IMG_2210.jpg
Views: 568
Size: 29.4 KB
Name: IMG_2211.jpg
Views: 573
Size: 23.9 KB

Just want you to know what you are getting. I'm asking what I am due to condition. Were good enough for my purpose but can't speak for others. The glue has let go so the vinyl needs stretched back and glued.

If you want them and need the retainers let me know. I want another $15 for both retainers. I can get pictures of those, too.

But then, why hurry, right? Just so you all know, Prairiewolf and me just couldn't come to an agreement on the pair. We arm wrestled, tug off war, all sorts of ways to settle this, even held our own makeshift congressional hearing type of thing (Oh the agony...the pain!). But nope, no good nada zip. Till finally, that is, just yesterday when he did agree to not buy these. It seemed like he was the only one on the planet making me sell them, so now I think I'm going to pull the vinyl (save that for something creative), strip the glue, and restore them as base metal panels.

The Black Driver side is still for sale................ $30

The Red Passenger side................................. $25 SOLD!

The Red pair are still for sale...........................$30 Now $20
................................................................................. Plus shipping

Tim,

Do you still have the upper door panel Strips? Chrome or painted it really don't matter.

Thanks.
