Quadrajets don't have much of a heat soak problem due to the centre float bowl. Area under the float is directly above the coolest part of the intake. Air/fuel thru the plenum cool it a bit.
Makes sense to me, mine starts hard after a long hot drive without letting it cool off a bit.
