2wd lift kit?
Anyone happen to know of a way to lift a 3/4ton 2wd suburban? It has coils front and rear. thanks

desert racers lift 2x4s all the time. I would get a copy of the dusty times. it is a racing mag you should be able to find someone to help you. hmmm long coils, exended A arms!!!! this sounds like a fun project... I want pics!!!!

the problems the back, longer coils woudl push the trailing arms forward and down which would shorten the wheelbase, you have to do some tweaking in the back... as in cutting off the old perches and putting them on top of the axle, and then putting them under the trailing arms

I'm unfamiliar with desert racing. Why would desert racers use or prefer 2WD trucks

There are different classes for 2x4 or 4x4 trucks. It's actually possible to get more suspension travel on a more stock 2x. I think a Fabtech lift for 73-87 will work on the 71 to 72 or earlier trucks if you've done a disc brake conversion. You'll have to fab your own lift for the rear if you have a coil spring truck. Leaf springs can just use blocks, add-a-leaves or replacement springs. I think JC whitney has rear coil springs that are 2-4" higher.

You could do some spacer blocks on the rear, do them on the frame side. As for the front, you can get maybe 1 1/2 to 2 inches with BB springs. The problem with the front is the upper ball joint angle. As you raise it the ball joint reaches its limit of pivot and you can't go beyond that point. I have seen some upper A-arms that angle the ball joint so you can get 3 or 4 inches. You need to swap to 73 and up control arm shafts for those arms.
