67 - 72 burb.... 5 seconds of fame!
ok, we've all seen the 67 - 72 trucks in everything from Disney movies, to TV comercials, in chick flicks.... pretty much everywhere. Well, you know, that's cool and all. I mean, they are cool trucks. We even saw a 69 - 72 blazer in an old navy jeans comercial a few years back.
However... when was the last time you saw a 67 - 72 burb on anything? Well, at the shop, we get catalogs of all sorts. Everything automotive that you could imagine. Invites to the Barret Jackson, Notices of swap meets in Cali, clear down to the stupid JC Whitney catalog. IN the monthly stack, I saw a company that sells all kinds of car care products... Griots Garage. (<----link!) I've been known to order a thing or two from them, so when i saw it, i pulled it from the pile. There is was... a very nice looking 1970 C/20 burb. (yes, this is just a cell phone pic) There products can be a bit pricey, but, the few I have used are top notch though. |

Re: 67 - 72 burb.... 5 seconds of fame!
well, finally someone is coming around, huh? That`s a nice one.
IMO,Groits is stupid and at least JC Whitney sells useful parts at reasonable prices amongst all the crap. There`s a lot of those auto novelty catalogs that have popped up that are distributed to credit card holders. And,it`s pretty much lower quality stuff at high prices for novices who know no better.i`m not saying I haven`t ordered a handy thing or two before. But,I`ve gotten some quality parts from JC for cheap, too.I stopped buying from them so the bombardment of catalogs would stop. I hope we see more`Burbs in advertising.what better cool family oriented vehicle is there?

If you go on Griots website there are more pictures of the Suburban and the places they visited on the summer trip.

Re: 67 - 72 burb.... 5 seconds of fame!
It is good to see a little love. I have a 1947 Dodge car. It is a very unexposed model of classic car. I was pleasantly suprised to see a 47' Dodge on the cover of Griots garage catalog about 6 months ago. They must like to use the obscure vehicles.
For as wildly popular as the 67-72 trucks are it is amazing how little attention the burbs get. Maybe it is the ugly azzed tail light treatment!
