rims and tires

I just picked up a 72 K5 with a 6 inch suspension lift 15x8 wheels wrapped with some 35" tires.

Gunna buy some new mickey thompsons classic polished and bfgoodrich tires don't care for the 15 inch wheels.

Hard time deciding to put 37's bfgoodrich mt km2 on 16x8 or 17x9 wheels?

Your thoughts and opinions please..

More tire choices currently with 16's, but the assortment of 17's are growing all the time. Either way, the 8" rim is too narrow IMO if you are going to run the 12.5" wide tire. I would be go with the 17x9's. If most of your driving is on the road, a 10" wide rim would be a better choice.

Re: rims and tires

I hear ya on the 17" wheels, 16's are much more common and tires are also cheaper. Army hmmv's have 37x12.50 16.50 wheels and tires and they do look tall and narrow. Don't really like that look. I'm thinking bout some 16x10 wheels now,

Thanks for you time and input

Re: rims and tires

I had a hard time with the delivery lead time for tires above 35" recently like for the last year or more. So I went with 35's just cause I could get them in a few days.

What gear ratio does your K5 have?
